Stoughton dropped a pair of nonconference games at the Edgerton Tournament on Saturday, May 13, in Edgerton. The Vikings lost to Edgerton 6-3 and Lake Mills 14-8.
Watertown pulled away from Stoughton during the Goslings’ 4-1 Badger East win over the Vikings on Tuesday, May 9, at Stoughton High School.
Edgerton 6, Stoughton 3
The Crimson Tide jumped on the Vikings with a combined six runs in the first three innings. Stoughton rallied late with three runs in the seventh inning. Evan Muchka collected two of Stoughton’s five hits.
Thor Armstrong came on in relief and gave up no runs in three innings. He surrendered two hits and struck out three.
Lake Mills 14, Stoughton 8
Stoughton once again rallied late and exploded for eight runs in the fifth after trailing 12-0. The Vikings racked up 11 hits in the loss.
Armstrong led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. He also scored twice. Muchka and Beckett Spilde both connected on a pair of hits. Ian Westerberg gave up no hits or runs in two innings on the mound.
Watertown 11, Stoughton 1
Stoughton (4-16, 2-10 Badger East) trimmed its deficit down to 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Watertown plated a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.
Kasen Sperle, Muchka, Caleb Hanson and Spilde all collected two hits each in the loss. Alex Bailey pitched a complete game for the Vikings – allowing four earned runs on nine hits. He struck out four and issued no walks.
