T Klongland obit

Timothy “Tim” C. Klongland, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. He was born on May 18, 1949 in Stoughton to H. Owen and Jean (Anderson) Klongland. He attended Stoughton schools and continued his education during a turbulent time at UW-Madison. Tim graduated with a BA in Art.

He went on to marry the former Karen Pohl, of Waukesha, who he met at the university. Tim was a successful buyer with Gimbels for many years before returning to the Stoughton area to become a real estate broker.

Tim was instrumental in developing Stoughton’s Sweetbrier addition near Fox Prairie Elementary School. He was an active member of the Stoughton Optimist Club and Stoughton Country Club. He loved playing golf and tennis. In addition to sports, Tim also pursued a vivid interest in many forms of art. His active social life included many games of 500, Bridge, and hosting fish boils.

Tim dedicated countless volunteer hours towards and took great satisfaction in the successful expansion of the Stoughton Golf Course from 9 to 18 holes.

Tim was also Town Clerk of Dunkirk and on the board of Middleton Insurance for many years.

Tim is survived by his children Ahren (Shaunda) Klongland and Thea Klongland; grandchildren Miles and Ivan Klongland; and Karen Klongland. He is further survived by his brothers Kent and Scott (Molly); and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Jean.

Visitation will be from 11-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church, 1860 US-51, Stoughton, Wisconsin, 53589 with a memorial service to follow at 12:30 p.m.

The family would like to thank Bettina Reinhart from Sylvan Crossings for always taking good care of Tim and the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their care and compassion during his stay.
