Thomas Castree


Thomas “Tom” Castree, age 82, of Stoughton, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Aug. 15, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Sam and Margaret (Sacco) Castree.

Tom attended Rockford East High School.  He married Patricia "Pat" Miller on Feb. 22, 1972, in Rockford, Illinois. He worked many years as a butcher for Logli Grocery Store before retiring in 2001.

Tom’s family meant the world to him, and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Tom also loved trap shooting at Hope Rod and Gun Club, boating and waterskiing on Lake Kegonsa and the Rock River, and spending time with his neighbors on Sunnyside Street. His family would like to thank his neighbors for all their help, especially Sally and Julie.  

Tom is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Sam (Dorianne) Castree and Thomas (Carrie) Castree; daughter, Lori McClanahan; sister, Dorothy Angileri; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his dog Buddy. He was preceded in death byhis parents.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in his name may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
