Stoughton police arrest boy for attempted robbery

Stoughton police arrested a 16-year -old boy for attempted strong armed robbery following an investigation into an attempted robbery at the Walmart Supercenter on July 1. He was transported to the Dane County Juvenile Reception Center.

According to a Stoughton Police Department news release on Monday, Oct. 25, police identified the boy, who was wearing a ski mask during the incident, and had jumped out of the passenger side of a stolen vehicle and tried unsuccessfully to grab a 65-year-old woman’s purse. He then fled from the scene toward Oregon in the vehicle, which was driven by another person. The woman was not injured during the incident.

According to the news release, the case remains under investigation.
